Saya menjangka bahawa selepas menyempurnakan sahur ramai juga members yang memasuki Channel 815 atau Golf Channel. Ini untuk mengikuti PGA Championship.The Professional Golf Association of America telah ditubuhkan pada tahun 1916. Ianya dipelopori oleh Rodman Wanamaker, saorang ahli perniagaan gedong perniagaan yang berjumpa dengan beberapa pemain golf terkenal dan ahli perniagaan terkemuka di New York pada 17 Januari 1916. Kesemuanya seramai 35 orang telah menghadiri perjumpaan itu dan dari situ tertubuh lah PGA of America. Pada tahun itu juga kejohanan PGA telah bermula. Piala yang dipertandingkan ialah Piala Wanamaker, sumbangan pelopor persatuan itu. Pada tahun 1917 dan 1918 iaitu semasa Perang dunia Pertama, kejohanan ini telah dihentikan dan disambung semula pada tahun 1919. Pada tahun 1943 semasa Perang Dunia Kedua, kejohanan ini juga dihentikan. Kini, 2010, ialah kali ke92 kejohanan ini dilangsungkan.
Kejohanan ini pada mulanya dijalankan sebagai Match Play tapi telah ditukarkan kepada stroke play, selari dengan the British Open dan the US Open.

The 2010 Senior PGA Champion 6. The 15 low scorers and ties in the 2009 PGA Championship 7. The 20 low scorers in the 2010 PGA Professional National Championship 8. The 70 leaders from the PGA Championship Points list from the 2009 World Golf Championships-Bridgestone Invitational through the 2010 Greenbrier Classic 9. Members of the 2008 United States and European Ryder Cup Teams providing they remain within the top 100 of the World Golf Rankings as of Aug. 2, 2010. 10. Winners of tournaments co-sponsored or approved by the PGA Tour from the 2009 PGA Championship to the 2010 PGA Championship (does not include pro-am and team competitions). 11. Vacancies will be filled by the first available player from the list of alternates (those below 70th place in the PGA Championship Points list from the 2009 World Golf Championships-Bridgestone Invitational through the 2010 Greenbrier Classic 12. In addition, The PGA of America reserves the right to invite additional players not included in the categories listed above. The total field will be a maximum of 156 players.
Sekarang ni kejohanan PGA Championship yang ke 92 sedang berlangsung di Whistling Straits Golf Course iaitu satu course di Wisconsin. Sebahgian besar course ini menyusur Tasik Michigan. Saya bentangkan sadikit sebanyak berkenaan course ini. Dalam bahasa Mat Salleh lah.
Designed by Pete Dye, Whistling Straits emulates the great old seaside links courses of the British Isles, invoking an image of the game founded more than 400 years ago. The Straits Course is open with rugged and windswept terrain. A more mature course than one would expect, golfers encounter huge sandy areas, deep pot bunkers,grass-topped dunes, big and undulating greens and majestic views of Lake Michigan from each of its 18 holes. The dramatic par-3 17th, the course's unofficial signature hole, features a green precariously perched over water and sand. Whistling Straits also features: • Two miles of uninterrupted shoreline on Lake Michigan • Eight holes hugging the Lake Michigan shoreline • Bluffs and massive sand dune areas • Natural fescue fairways • A flock of Scottish Blackface sheep call the course home • Elevation change on the course (hole 15) is approximately 80 feet • The Straits Course is a walking course; walking distance for 18 holes is approximately five miles • Three stone bridges at holes 9, 10 and 18
Kejohanan sekarang ini memasuki hari kedua, tetapi disebabkan cuaca dah mula gelap, permainan terpaksa dihentikan. Setakat ini yang mendahului kejohanan ialah Matt Kuchar dengan -8, diikuti oleh Nick Watney dengan -7, Jason Dufner, Bryce Molder, Dustin Johnson, Seung Yul Noh , Rory McIlroy, Zach Johnson, Simon Johnson, Jason Day dan Bubba Watson kesemuanya di -5. Seramai 9 pemain di T3. Walau pun bagitu Jason Day masih di Lubang 15 dan Bubba Watson diLubang 12. Masih boleh kejar lagi.
Yang kita kenal saperti Vijay Singh di-3 diLubang 9, Phil Mickelson dah tamat di-2 dan Tiger Woods diE diLubang 9. Masih ada harapan. Cut off akan meliputi seramai 70 pemain terbaik dan dijangka di +1.Sekarang kita kena tunggu sahur pada subuh 15 Ogos untuk mengikuti perkembangan.

ReplyDeletesaya sempat nonton tapi terputus2 antara jaga dan terlena. Tapi yg final round tu saya trngok selepas sahor sampai habis. saya kecewa Rorry Mcilroy tak menang. Tapi top 10. kalau dia birdie lobang 16 sekurang2nya dia dapat masuk playoff. Sayang

Just like Dato K, I was on Astro Channel 815, following 92nd PGA Championship from D1 until the play-off between Bubba Watson and Martin Kaymer on D4.
On the 3rd play-off hole which is the course 18th hole, Watson made a double bogey whereas Martin Kaymer holed in for a bogey and won his first major.
There are many lessons skawan members can learn from 92nd PGA Championship. Firstly, never get upset anytime you score double bogey and you may lose few ringgit in the three-one-one! A pro like Bubba Watson, at the 3rd play-off hole, hit his second shot into the water follwed by 4th shot into the bunker and ended up with a double bogey to lose the chance of winning millions of US Dolllars and PGA Championship... and yet Bubba plays golf everyday because that is his only JOB!
Jadi, jika main golf tak bagus, dapat tripple atau double bogey... relax aje sebab bermain golf hanya sambilan untuk kita ahli skawan.
Another big lesson, NEVER ground your club in the bunker because Dustin Johnson lost 2 strokes for grounding his no. 4 iron in the bunker before hitting the ball. The 2-stroke landed him in the 5th place instead of being eligable for the play-off with Bubba Watson and Martin Kaymer.
Yang menarik saya adalah Rory McIlroy, seorang pemain golf muda ( seorang kawan super senior golfer kata, "hidung masih beringus" ) tetapi dia "gentleman golfer", permainannya hebat dan konsisten sekali dari D1 hingga D4. Saya harap beliau boleh menang tetapi nasibnya belum ada, Rory mempunyai ciri-ciri pemenang dan satu hari beliau akan menjadi johan salah satu major competitions.
Mari kita berbuka di Delma Hotel Ampang Point bersama Ahli Skawan dan keluarga pada 19 Ogos 2010.
