SETIAKAWANGOLF OCTOBER 2009 RANKINGS

Dear Setiakawan Members,
I have posted the overall October 2009 Rankings, which indicate individual standings for the President's Trophy towards the end of the year.
The image is a bit small, so I will break it up into smaller segments for clearer readings.

  1. Congratulations to Dato' Amin Salleh (DAS)and the Skawan Handicapping Committee and KolJohn for updating the latest "Skawan Rankings" which I am most happy to see yours truly being moved up by two places to 6th position.
The current hottest topic everywhere on golf courses and teh tarik corners is "rasuah" but I can assure all skawan members that there was no form of "rasuah" from me to Dato Amin and his committee! It was my golf skill plus the great luck during the entire October for me to have achieved 132 points from the 4 games which we played.

I always want to remind golfers, "if you can
use your skill ( 10%) and pray for 90% luck to come in every time you play, then you got it made and you would return good scores"!
That was what happened to me for the month of October 2009 when everything turned out very well for my golfing to achieve 1st to 4th position every week. This is a very remarkable golf performance and ushers well for my 65th Birthday to-day.

If I could recall, one of the qualifications for skawan members to play skawan
competitions is to have played at least 20 times and for "Golfer of The Year" 25 times for the entire year. A good number has already qualified but obviously some are already out of the race because we have only 8 weeks to go. However, I can see many can still catch up in Nov and December if they play every week until the competition day. Good luck.

See you on Wed 4 November at The Golf CC to be confirmed by RHM.

    Salam to ALL.

  2. Saudara Ramli Kinta (RK) and RHM,

We have discussed the subject of PDGCC's much improved condition as we all witnessed during last Wed Skawan golf outing. I know some didn't quite like it because they returned with bad scores, but remember in golf there will always be good days ahead!

Generally, from the feedbacks which I received from members, almost all agree that we should include PDGCC as one of SkawanGolf's regular venues. Afterall, the distance from Ampang Point is only one hour by road at 150 KM per hour ( Kol Mutalib can stand witness) the RM 90.00 per pax fees is very reasonable, the family suite at the Resort costs only RM 121.00 and the beach is just one par 5 away. The Golf Driving Range is only 25 metres away from hotel rooms and the range golf balls cost less than RM 10.00 for 100.

I also agree that this year's President Cup
is played at PDGCC which I feel the President, from his body languages, would go along with this proposal. We can even plan for a family outing/Bar-B-Q, etc, etc, the night before the golf game as a possible option.

We certainly need to finalise SIM-PERTH 2010 soonest so that those interested members can plan their budgets and schedules.

See you at TASIK PUTERI GCC on Wed 4 Nov 2009.

  3. Hi John,

Your great effort to include Broery's songs in U-TUBE must not go unnoticed!
Thank you for the inclusion of some of my favourite numbers!
